MoveWell Sustainability Pledge 2026
We began MoveWell to create a better choice — for your movement practice and for our planet.
What we buy matters.
How we buy matters.
On average, each of us makes around 35,000 decisions a day. Individually they feel small. Collectively they shape industries, supply chains and the future of our environment.
MoveWell exists to prove that high-performance Yoga and Pilates equipment does not have to come at a high environmental cost.
We are not perfect. We may never be.
But we are committed to being better — and to continually improving.
To guide every decision we make, we operate through our Five-Tier Sustainability Framework. This framework ensures that the impact of every product, partnership and process is considered, measured and improved wherever possible.
Manufacturing any physical product will always carry an environmental footprint. Our responsibility is to minimise it, design intelligently around it, and actively give back.

OUR STRATEGIC SUSTAINABILITY FRAMEWORK
1. MATERIALS
Our products are made using certified natural and recycled materials wherever possible — chosen for durability, function and reduced environmental impact.
We prioritise materials that are:
-
Certified recycled, natural or biodegradable
-
Durable and robust for studio-level use
-
A more responsible alternative to the current market standard
-
Designed with a clear end-of-life pathway
The majority of our core range is biodegradable in landfill within 3–5 years or recyclable through appropriate channels. We are continuing to develop a take-back and recycling pathway to support customers with responsible disposal — including like-for-like products.
Where we are improving
Our Activation Bands (a blend of recycled polyester and natural rubber) are harder to recycle due to their material blend. In 2026, we are developing a structured return scheme to ensure these can be responsibly processed at end of life.
For high-use studios, we also offer recycled PVC mats manufactured in Europe. These are extremely durable and suited to 8–10 hours of daily use. However, PVC production remains chemically intensive and difficult to recycle. We are actively working with a progressive European factory to reduce additives and explore improved circular solutions.
Durability remains our core sustainability principle: the most sustainable product is one that does not need replacing.

2. MANUFACTURING
We partner with manufacturers who lead in both environmental standards and worker welfare.
We currently manufacture in:
-
The United Kingdom
-
Portugal
-
Taiwan
Our partners demonstrate strong social accountability standards and, where applicable, hold certifications including REACH, SEDEX, Global Recycled Standard and Vegan accreditation.
We prioritise:
-
Responsible material sourcing
-
Waste management systems
-
Ethical labour standards
-
Renewable or lower-impact energy use
Where we are improving
In 2026 and beyond, we aim to personally visit all manufacturing partners and their material suppliers. Future suppliers will be assessed in person wherever possible.
Our long-term goal is to geographically consolidate manufacturing closer to our core market, reducing freight distances and enabling circularity — including potential material reclamation back into production.

3. PACKAGING
We use recycled and recyclable packaging wherever possible. Our branding is intentionally minimal to reduce ink usage and chemical processing.
We:
-
Recycle outer transit packaging
-
Reduce unnecessary inserts and print materials
-
Optimise packaging size to minimise void space
-
Work with fulfilment partners who prioritise sustainable materials
Where we are improving
Our Natural Rubber Movement Mats currently require protective cellophane during storage to prevent oxidation. While this is removed and recycled before reaching customers, we continue to work with our manufacturer to find an oxidation-safe, plastic-free solution.

4. SHIPPING
All stock freight is transported via sea or overland routes — we do not air freight bulk shipments.
For distribution we prioritise:
-
Royal Mail (UK’s lowest reported carbon delivery operator)
-
DHL (first logistics company committed to net-zero emissions via SBTi)
-
DPD (solar-powered depots, renewable electricity and zero landfill waste commitment)
Our fulfilment partner operates with sustainable packaging and waste practices as standard.
Where we are improving
During research and development, sample shipments are sometimes air-freighted. In 2026, we are working to streamline product development to reduce the number of samples required and therefore reduce air freight reliance.
5. FOOTPRINT & GIVING BACK
We acknowledge that no product business can be impact-free.
Every harvested material, every factory process and every shipment leaves a mark. We believe responsibility means going beyond reduction — and actively giving back.
Protecting Rainforest Globally
Since day one, we have worked with Tr1be to protect five mature Amazonian trees for every MoveWell purchase. To date, this has protected over 22 acres of mature rainforest — preserving critical carbon sinks and biodiversity.
Protecting Rainforest Locally – Cornwall
In 2026, we are proud to begin working with Plant One Cornwall to help restore and protect Cornish Temperate Rainforest — one of the UK’s most rare and endangered ecosystems.
As a Cornish-founded brand, protecting our local environment is deeply important to us. Cornwall’s coastline, moorland and woodland landscapes are not just our backdrop — they are part of our identity.
Through this partnership, we will support:
-
Native tree planting
-
Rainforest restoration
-
Biodiversity protection
-
Local ecological resilience
Giving back locally ensures that our environmental contribution is not abstract — it is rooted in the land we call home.
1% for the Planet
In 2026, we are working towards formal partnership with 1% for the Planet — committing to donate 1% of revenue to verified environmental causes.
This ensures structured, accountable giving as we scale.
OUR B CORP JOURNEY
We are continuing our B Corp Impact Assessment with the intention of becoming a certified B Corporation.
This process challenges us across:
-
Governance
-
Worker standards
-
Environmental impact
-
Community contribution
-
Transparency
It ensures that sustainability is embedded not just in our products — but in our structure.
We believe business should be a force for good. Certification is not the goal in itself — accountability is.
OUR COMMITMENT FOR 2026 & BEYOND
We commit to:
-
Continually improving material choices
-
Increasing product durability and circularity
-
Reducing unnecessary plastics
-
Protecting rainforest globally and locally
-
Structuring environmental giving through 1% for the Planet
-
Progressing through B Corp certification
-
Remaining transparent about where we succeed and where we are still improving
MoveWell was created to raise the standard in Yoga and Pilates equipment.
Better materials.
Better decisions.
Better impact.
